Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Planners parties.
